The "Iconic" Headland scheme is scrapped
Posted on Sunday, June 17 @ 23:06:48 BST by max.wallis

Ely Bridge / Penarth Headland Link
The fancy £20 million Headland scheme is cancelled, while the Ely Bridge is on the agenda, it was announced at the Vale Council's State-of-the-Area meeting on 15 June.

The Vale officers are looking into routing buses across the new foot/cycle bridge. The other suggestion of routing buses across the Barrage is not on. Design studies are starting for the bridge, and it will come up for "Big Lottery" funding in the autumn.

Some £1 million was spent on design studies for the aborted Headland scheme, to a whole slew of consultants. It's unknown if the Council will sue for their bad advice.
